Question by : How can I get the gps to work on my Verizon Phone?
I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 with Windows Mobile 6.5, and every source I’ve come across has told me that I need to subscribe to VZ Navigator in order to make use of the GPS on my phone. However, my husband (who is on the same plan with a Droid 2 Android phone) is fully capable of using his phone’s GPS.

Furthermore… I inherited this phone from my mother-in-law (who was formerly on our plan with this phone) when she switched to TMobile because there was no way to shut down this phone line without paying a hefty fee. She had CoPilot installed on this phone and used it without issue. So the GPS stopped finding satellites some time during the months in which this phone sat idle.

Location on the phone is set to automatically collect location data, my GPS setting are set to Manage GPS automatically, and the GPS program port is set to COM4 (the default). I have no GPS hardware and no desire to purchase any.

Is there any way I can get my GPS working again, or is this OS/phone just terrible?
