I was intrigued by the color ereader release of the Kindle Fire – but I did NOT want to invest over $200 for the reader w/more functionality. I am not going to rely on it for heavy lifting, just wanted/needed something to store a couple dozen free novels for emergency needs to pass the time. I wanted to be able to access my facebook account as well as check on some topics online that didn’t necessitate firing up the laptop (like while reading on a topic or seeing something on TV). I was able to download some free games – a tetris derivative, a math game, plus solataire. I use when I am too tired to sit at the table with the laptop or just want to check something quick while relaxing. Plus playing a few games before lights out helps me get drowsy. This item is everything I wished for, plus the red color kicks it up a notch in the fun quotion. It’s pretty zippy loading the apps I use, the books I’ve downloaded and I couldn’t be happier. Plus the refurbished price is a BIG savings for a unit with 4 GB and the slot for a 32BG memory card. I am not put off my its being refurbished since I figure it’s been checked out closely for resale. The vendor I used was speedy and I would highly recommend their good service. With so much technology to desire, it’s nice to find a niche that offers a good price for a good product without submitting to the pressure of a BIG NAME manufacturer. The PanDigital uses Android apps and is hooked up with Barnes & Noble, so it’s all a snap. If you are in the market for more than a basic reader, this PanDigital is the way to go. Enjoy!

After reading all the reviews I went ahead and ordered it anyway. There a few good things about it and a lot of bad things. I knew it wasn’t going to be very fast, but I was only going to use it to read, surf the web and watch videos which it does fine, it takes about 15- 20 seconds to load a web page I know that’s forever in computer terms but I’m not that inpatient I can’t wait 20 seconds for it to load. Lets carry on shall we: The good- The price is right, you can read and down load books as long as they are in pdf or epub format, you can surf the web I suggest you download the Skyfire or Dolphin browser they are faster than the one it comes with, you can watch and download videos but they are limited. The Bad- It is slow not snail slow but slow the 4 GB’s is the clue, it is running Android 1.5 Cupcake which will not give you the full Android experience. If you want the full Android experience save your money up and get the XOOM or Asus Transformer Prime or one that is running 3.2 Honey Comb or 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Apps or limited, so far I have downloaded the Skyfire and Dolphin browsers, but they are older versions could not get the new versions to load.I downloaded the You Tube app also, and it works great but videos are limited because all videos are not for mobile devices so you will need the app. It does not as for as I can tell support flash, I have not found away to get the flash player on it,(Any help would be appreciated) so you cant watch videos on the web that supports flash player, and if you want to watch downloaded videos you will need to covert them into MP4 format(Download:Any Video Converter) it is free.I hope this helps.

this e-reader is also a very functional tablet pc. it plays music and videos well. I used the apk file and added netflix and facebook to it as well as other aps. Pandigital is on their toes about updates.

I paid about 100 for mine on sale. It works almost as well as my iconia given the price difference. I use mine for music and videos as well as audio books. It is prolly to slow for need for speed but works fine for angry birds and fruit ninja.

the bad reviews are for the previous model, this is NOT the cheap chinese knockoff tablet.
