bought this touchpad (16GB) at Best Buy. The touchpad works with Android 2.2.1 box. Product of the welds være trial of Qualcomm Innovation Center, as the center ice logo if Vista touchpad enabled. Video shows me going through the device for developers and web browser. I can not find a way to get the Android Market, Android ÉVENTUELLE or download applications for the device.

If you were to download an app on the Android market while running Android OS then reboot under the WebOS would the Android app still be available to use while on the different OS and vise versa?

@Music4PeaceToday It was. There were several TouchPads that were sold running Android out of the box, which obviously isn’t supposed to be what the TouchPad runs. There’s a big deal being made by Xda-Developers about how this violates GPL. If you’re more interested, try a quick google search for TouchPad GPL, or head over to xda-developers(dot)com and read what they’re saying about it. It’s pretty interesting.
To be honest I thought the HP touchpad was only equiped with webOS. May I ask if this was the same $99 version sold everywhere?
HP needs to release the Source Code to this under the GPL!

@GTPTaylor nobody would pay thousands for this. I am on all the mobile forums and they’ll pay him retail plus maybe a hundred……the tablet is essentially useless to real world devs right now because you can’t access the Linux kernel which is the major issue.

He got it out of the box. He doesnt know how to help you, or anyone else. Right now the only Android available for HP Touchpad is the developer’s version, which would be really hard to work with and doesnt have much on it.
You have to wait until they finish the mod for it to become available for touchpad. Just use WebOS for now, its not that bad.
regardless you guys if he got it out of the box or not hes running android and he could sell this one to cyanogenmod or any other site for thousands
