Merry Christmas Sir, thanks for helping me decide, Apple Tv does look sound. We eliminated our horrible cost of cable tv, we are going to upgrade our speed on our internet and just run Apple Tv. I thought we would have withdrawals but hey, our local news is on stream….I will set my apple tv and my laptop on my downstairs tv for numerous purposes that Apple Tv cant get/// Thanks again great review

ops something went wrong with my post..

there is missing one sentence: ..then a movie stream. the computation delay can be neglected since the server has got some uber cpu/gpu powers!

  7. 1aMattes says:

it’s not that bad. all you need is a good latency to the server. there is a delay from your input to the server, then the computation delay and the output delay which is nothing else than a movie powers.

i am at 64MBits and got a latency of 8-19 ms depending on the server location. in near future we will reach 1gbit with optical fibers (fiber2home from telecom). latency wont be an issue anymore! (< 1ms)

The real Problem is that not everyone has high Enough bandwidth to do Cloud gaming. According to Onlive I do, but even with that I still Plagued with Major leg problems. until that as been Resolved, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any real Cloud gaming in the Near future. It’s not like steaming of movies today, witch itself is Easy to do. Streaming movies only takes up one part, as for Cloud gaming it takes up a shit load.

problem with onlive was it came to early. apple could – as usual – come just right. that sounds kinda dirty :-)
