Question by dave d: What is a good beginner’s strategy for learning Android Application Development?
I’m new to coding, but not new to the world of mobile apps. I currently do QA for a company that has an iPad, Android, and iPhone app. I would rather be good at just Android, than mediocre at iPhone and Android, so I’ve decided to focus on Android. So I guess my question is, should I learn introductory Java first, or should I get a book that is Introductory Android Development that skips over some specifics, but would get me a quicker overview of the development process. Is the industry all moving towards HTML5, and should I just follow that first? Any strategy that makes the most sense for becoming a Android only (I know that doesn’t really exist) developer would be great.
